Andhracafe.com- HYDERABAD :HYDERABAD: Reviewing the various agitations taken by it over a period of time, the CPM State committee, which met here has resolved to intensify its agitations on various issues concerning general public.
The committee felt that serious irregularities were taking place in Indiramma Housing scheme and oldage pensions. "All the eligible persons are not being covered either in housing or pension scheme. Both the schemes are being hijacked by Congress leaders," the party alleged.
Demanding Rs 1000 per quintal minimum support price to paddy, the CPM also wanted remunerative price to other agricultural produce. The party also demanded that the Government implement recommendations of Swaminathan Committee on agricultural reforms.
Extending support to the agitations against rural public schools, the CPM has decided to intensify its agitation against belt shops.
The other issues discussed by the CPM State committee include nodal agency for implementation of SC, ST special component plan, move to increase property tax in municipal areas, ex gratia to the rain and flood-affected people and spiralling prices.
The party also directed its legislature wing to raise these issues in the forthcoming winter session of the Assembly.
