Andhracafe.com- As Home Minister P.Chidambaram announced the beginning of the process for Telangana statehood yesterday late night, there was cheer in the TRS camp, as their leader KCR finally broke his fast with a glass of lemon juice. Telangana supporters burst crackers amidst festivity.
All said, but is this really the start of a new beginning or again a ploy from the center to pushback the T-issue slowly? While some feel that this time Telangana would be finalized, others are of the opinion that Telangana is still a distant dream. Although the government may have announced the start of the process, it is know that this "process" is not a simple matter. Heads and representatives from all the regions of Andhra Pradesh will have to conclude on a common thing and reach a consensus. Experts believe that there will be a lot of issues/concerns brought during this, which includes the following but not limited to
1) Demarcation of Telangana and Boundary settlement
2) Status of Greater Hyderabad
3) Water and Resources Sharing (as headwaters will be controlled by Telangana)
4) Dams and Hydel Projects (Nagarjuna Sagar, Sreeram Sagar)
5) Compensation for Rayalseema for giving up Kurnool as the capital
6) Future Capital City of "Andhra"
etc
These are considered to be major issues where a proper consensus cannot be arrived for the formation of Telangana while various political leaders take advantage of different situations arising out of this.
